City Council Minutes – June 10, 2024

ST LUCAS COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES

June 10, 2024 – 7:00 p.m.                                      St Lucas Community HaU

The regular meeting of the St. Lucas City Council was held on Monday, June 10, 2024, at 7:05 p.m. Mayor Svendsen presiding. Council members present at the Community Center were Morgan Gage, Courtney Hageman, Sam Schmitt and Brock Perry. Guests present were Chad Wurzer and Kevin Anderson.

  1. A motion by Hageman, second by Gage to accept the posted agenda. All aye, so moved.
  2. A motion by Perry, second by Hageman to approve the minutes from the May 13th regular meeting. All ayes, so moved.
  3. A motion by Schmitt, seconded by Gage to approve the May 2024 financial report. All, ayes, so moved.
  4. A motion by Schmitt, second by Hageman to approve the presented list of claims. All, ayes, so moved.
  5. Hageman moved to approve the tobacco permits for Kuennen’s Tap and Liquor Store and M&M Convenience Store. Gage seconded, all ayes. Motion approved.
  6. Discussed drainage/erosion issue on Spring Street. Uphill landowner will be contacted regarding installing erosion/silt fencing.
  7. The underground sewer locator software will be updated, and training will be scheduled in July.
  8. The American flags located on the poles in town will have pins placed on them to keep them from being blown down.
  9. The clerk will apply for a $100 event sponsorship from Fayette County Economic Development to be used for Fun Days and the Miss St Lucas contest.
  10. Several street signs need to be replaced. These will be ordered and installed this summer.

  12. The Code Book continues to be updated.
  13. Information has been sent to Iroc for City website development as requested.
  14. Fir,e Department Update – Auburn Township hasn’t signed the updated 28E agreement yet, continue to reach out to determine issues. The Fire Depts Pork Loin Supper will be August 1. installation of the new radios has been completed.
  15. Park Update – The bathroom doors and hinges are going to be replaced with heavier ones in hopes of stopping the wind from catching them and breaking the current hinges.
  16. Community/Fun Days – Raffle tickets are still available for sale for Fun Days. Anyone interested in volunteering please contact a commitee member! Looking forward to a great weekend!

A motion by Hageman, second by Schmitt to adjourn at 8:20 pm. All ayes, so moved. The next scheduled city council meeting is July 8, 2024 at 7:00 p.m.
