City Council Minutes – July 8, 2024

ST LUCAS COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES

July 8, 2024 – 7:00 p.m.                                     St Lucas Community Hall

The regular meeting of the St. Lucas City Council was held on Monday, July 8, 2024, at 7:05 p.m. Mayor Svendsen presiding. Council members present at the Community Center were Morgan Gage, Courtney Hageman and Brock Perry. Paul Dietzenbach arrived at 7:10 p.m. Guest present was Kevin Anderson.

  1. A motion by Hageman, second by Gage to accept the posted All aye, so moved.
  2. A motion by Gage, second by Perry to approve the minutes from the June 10th regular meeting. All ayes, so moved.
  3. A motion by Gage, seconded by Perry to approve the June 2024 financial All, ayes, so moved.
  4. A motion by Hageman, second by Gage to approve the presented list of All ayes, so moved.
  5. Fun Days was a success despite some rain! We should have all the bills settled and a final financial statement ready for the August meeting. Thanks to all the volunteers!
  6. Drainage issue in Spring St was discussed some A silt log has been placed upstream to help hold back some of the silt washing down. The council will get a couple estimates/suggestions for how to address the issue of mud and water pooling on the street and will discuss at the August meeting.
  7. Hageman moved to approve building permit application #17 for 228 E Main St. Gage seconded, all Motion approved.
  8. Dietzenbach moved to proceed with a contract extension with Black Hawk Waste Disposal to provide garbage service to St Lucas. Gage seconded. All aye, motion passed. A resolution will be prepared for the August meeting.
  9. Code Book – No update, item
  10. Hageman has been working on a list of businesses in town to include on the website and IROC has started design work.
  11. Fire Department Update – No update
  12. Park Update – New bathroom doors have been ordered for the shelter
  13. Community/Fun Days – The controllers for the digital sign on the community center need to be replaced. Next year’s Fun Days wilt be June 27-28u’l Anyone interested in helping can contact a committee or council member for more information.

A motion by Gage, second by Dietzenbach to adjourn at 7:51 pm. All ayes, so moved. The next scheduled city council meeting is August 12, 2024 at 7:00
